CHEF FATIMA FOUNDATION

Fatima was a family friend of Shehrazade’s and the two grew closer while in New York together, eating Fatima’s fusion desi creations and talking about Fati’s future dreams. Shehrazade says “Her focus is what really drew me to her. She dreamed of everything she wanted and then she worked to achieve it. She had much more to offer the world than she ever realized. The Chef Fatima Foundation is one such dream and I am lucky to be a part of it. If we fulfill even half of what Fati dreamed of for this Foundation, we will have impacted so many lives. The Foundation will show how simple culinary experiences can change lives and bring more light around us. I feel that is what our Fati was always about.”

Shehrazade’s expertise in filmmaking will be critical in the Foundation’s work – to showcase what the Foundation is doing, to document our projects, and share the progress. Shehrazade has deep connections to many people we hope to engage in our projects as we grow, people who appreciate and respect her and who can help us project our voice and have more impact. Her passion for storytelling and drive, to make that her life’s work, in many ways, reflect Fatima’s spirit: to pursue a career in filmmaking and television- a domain predominantly occupied by men, and forge her own path, work hard and become successful doing something she loves. Shehrazade will help us deliver the messages Fatima was shouting out while she was alive, and reach thousands of people across the world.
